Whew-ee. Here it is Saturday night and I guarantee no one is blogging or will be reading this blog tonight. I'm sipping on my Chardonnay- it's pretty delicious. I have spent (and I am not exaggerating THIS time) since about 11am this morning working on my grad classes. I ate lunch and went to church during the course of the 9 hours, otherwise, I was reading and typing. I took a class this summer and it ends October 1. So I put it off and spent the last week trying to get the BS done. And I think I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I can not tell you how excited I will be to graduate in May. What does it feel like to NOT do homework? Foxtrot, I commend you on getting your masters right away. Nice job! I can not WAIT to get that million on my paycheck too! ha!
So enough of the boring stuff. Things have been going well for me. Finally at work I feel like I am able to do my job (or jobs). I have passed the buck onto other people at work to help with our little kindergartner. I am still assisting but I am trying to stay out of it some. She is not special education therefore we have other people that can help. It's the whole "I don't have to be in control" sort of thing. I will gladly let someone else work with her too. She's making some progress but she's still a loose cannon and it's like she's been caged up! Insane!
I just went to Hannah's first birthday at Ryan and Corey's. It was a "bee" theme - they call her Hannah Bee. She is just a doll! She had her first sweet a cupcake and she didn't know what to do with it! I put some frosting on my finger and she looked at me like I was crazy trying to make her eat it! Then she just went to town! I love it! It makes me want to have my own, SOMEDAY :).
Foxtrot, I am so glad you have a good class this year, it's amazing how kids can determine your day or year. I think that's the "joy" of teaching, each and every day is new and exciting along with each year. Yet, sometimes, that year can seem pretty damn long....
So Megan, how many hours does it take to get to Carolina? Do I hear a road trip??? Seriously, that'd be fun. Like over Christmas break or something. Either Spring Break.
Eric and I are doing well. Nothing new to report. He is away in the mountains having "man time" with his dad and uncle. I'm actually able to get a lot of stuff done while he's away, but I already miss him! PATHETIC!
Alright, ladies, I'm going to pass the buck to someone else, WHITEY or AUBREY! :)
Happy rest of the weekend! Love you all!

Oh the Joys of Teaching...
Hello all! Sorry I have been MIA for awhile once again. Megan, I am so happy for you that you found a home! That is very exciting. Hopefully sometime in 2009 I can come to visit. I hope you do get to come to the Topeka area so I can see you soon! Gracie-Poo, I am so sorry to hear about your classroom struggles... it reminds me of some of mine last year. Hang in there girl! But seriously, the kindergartener called you that? Wow. White Stuff, I hope you are having a good year. I will be in Lawrence, along with Aubs, the weekend of November 8 so hopefully I can see you! We will be in town celebrating Brandon's 21st birthday. I seriously cannot believe he is that old. It will be nice to go back to my old stomping grounds since I haven't been in awhile. I'm still trying to convince Nick to come along, but it will be hunting season so we shall see. He's one of those stubborn K-State fans too, so I'm not so sure how excited he is about entering Jayhawk country.
Things are going well for me right now. I love my class this year, so work is much better than last year. Funny how your class can make or break your year! I have the funniest story that happened last week... All of my students were working on their math assignment at their desks. I was monitoring the room to make sure everyone was working. Some of my kids stand at their desks when they work and Austin was one of them who was standing up. Well, all of a sudden, his pants fell down. I started laughing hysterically and could not quit. The moment he realized his pants had fallen down, he said outloud, "my pants fell down!!" and threw his arms up in the air. He then picked up his trousers and came running over to me. The mental picture I have still makes me laugh! He came up to me and said, "Miss Fox, my pants fell down!" And I replied, "I saw that, Austin" while trying my darndest to cover up my laughter. Then he asked if he could go to the bathroom. I am still trying to contain my laughter, though with little success. A few of the other students saw what happened, but then the others who didn't see were trying to figure out what all the commotion was about. I told the class they needed to get back to work and not worry about what happened. Then all of a sudden one of my students said really loud, "they really fell down?" Obviously, the news of the event spread quickly. Austin finally comes back and when he enters the room he yells out, "I got 'em fixed!" And of course, the room erupts with laughter. It's a good thing that Austin is a sort of goof ball and this didn't bother him at all. If it had been a girl who was embarassed, I would have felt bad about laughing. So, it made for a funny story and I finally got my class under control and back to work. I swear, some things only happen in teaching.
I hope everyone is doing great right now! Remember, we should work to live, not live to work! Enjoy your spare time and don't let work get you down. Should I be an inspirational speaker? :) Talk to you all soon!

We found a home!
Hey girls,
So we are finally done with the moving process. I still need to find a job though. We did the 12 hour drive in different cars and I never want to really have to drive that far just me and Kiers in the car. It was tough, we drove through tropical strom Fay to get here and she was really good and slept for the 4 hours we were driving in a down poor but after that she got kinda fussy. Good thing my aunt burned me a CD with Alyson Krauss singing Baby of Mine becuase it was the only thing that could calm her. I tried every other CD I had in the car but some how it did the trick. So, I listened to at least 8 hours of that song on repeat. Then we got here, stayed in an awesome hotel and found a house. It is really nice. It is only 2 years old. It is a 3 bed 2 bath house with a bonus room. It also has a screened in deck and a 2 car garage. I love being in a house and out of an apt. There is not much to do in the town of New Bern but if anyone wants to come visit we are about 30 miles from the beach and we have plenty of room for you to stay, so we would love to have you.
Anyways, that is what is new with us. How is school going for all of you guys? I hope your years will be really good! Aubrey, as soon as I find a job I am going to start looking for a time to come visit you! Foxy, Grace, and White I hope to see you guys a lot in October. I dont know for sure if I am coming but it looks like I am.
I miss you all a ton!
